My name is Anna Schaeffer, I'm a junior at Park Hill South High School, and I have been skating since I was 4 years old. Throughout the years, I've tried every sport from tennis to golf to dance. But figure skating was the only thing that I ever got hooked on. For the past 12 years, skating has helped me to build confidence, strength, and discipline in addition to many friendships strong enough to last a lifetime. It has shaped my life in ways I never dreamt possible and is such a big part of who I am today. In addition to skating on my own, I now help teach group lessons at Line Creek Ice Arena (or my 'second home' as we call it in my family), ice dance, skate on the Kansas City Illusion Open Juvenile synchronized skating team, and work at Edge Wise Sport Supply. My coaches, boss, and teammates have helped my love for figure skating flourish and grow over the years and I know that the things they-and the sport in general-have taught me will play a large part in my life for as long as I live. |
